7 Deadly Sins!?!?!?!?!

So, if you aren't catholic, you probably haven't heard of the 7 deadly sins. The 7 deadly sins are Gluttony, Greed, Laziness, Vanity, Lust, and Envy. It is said that if you commit any of these 7 sins on purpose, you will be "damned to hell for all eternity." That's pretty heavy, you know. I mean I think I can speak for about 80% of the world and say we can all see each other in hell for being lazy. Really, though? Laziness? That almost seems unfair. Unless if it's like excessive laziness, in which case I would say about 20% of the world is... maybe. Now anyway, maybe we've all committed one of these sins, but maybe it was only once and never again, or it's just not enough to be doomed for eternity. So really, when you think about it, you probably have a favorite. I'm sure some people like to be lazy, and then some people like to get angry a lot. Then of course, some people like to eat a lot, which is probably where I fall in if I had to pick one. Eating is awesome. I wouldn't say I eat a ton of food, especially because my stomach won't allow me to, but I do like to eat. And I'm not fat either. I can eat, and then go to football practice, and then eat some more because football burns off all the food I end up eating. So like a case like mine, it's not really bad to eat for me because I'm not getting overweight and it's not really excessive. So this begs the question, Since they obviously are not deadly all the time, when do they becme deadly? In think that one can really be up to the person and how they see it. And of course it's also up to God. I would ask him if u really need to know.

School - why do we fail?

So apparently when we do bad in school, we are not the ones at fault. It's all the teachers fault according to the ones who pay for school. The idea behind this is that the teachers have to be able to motivate the students to learn and succeed. So if they don't succeed, then the teacher has not properly motivated the student, putting them at fault. For some reason they don't consider the fact that some students are just not the learning type and are just not good at school in their nature. But it's still the teacher's fault. The other idea behind this is that if the students are doing bad, they can fire the teacher and bring in another hoping they will do a better job. The other part of the idea is that they can't fire he student, so the only possible way to make them better is by bringing in another teacher hoping they will motivate the students better so that they do succeed. To me that's kinda crazy because again if the students are just naturally bad at school, then many teachers are gaining and losing jobs constantly with no positive outcome. They should just look for better ways of getting the bad students to enjoy it more so they will try rather than look for a new teacher. Thats what's up with that.

What is Freestyle???

Today I was told that we could do a freestyle blog. To many this simply means that they can write random stuff about a meaningless topic in some cases (but not in the AFES of course). So great people get to write about something completely random. Is that really a good use of the writer's or the reader's time? Well I guess it would be if it was something funny, because come on, who doesn't like a good funny post once and a while. But really the peopl are not told to write freestyle to be random. The really underlying point is to express their true opinion on a topic of their choice. That doesn't mean for them to go and list their favorite foods, but to actually be interesting and show their point of view. That's why it's freestyle. You can be free and talk about what your really thinking without much criticism. ITS FREEDOM!!!!! Use it wisely! It's not everyday you get to post something about almost anything on your mind, you know. If you really use it well people will become interested and want to know what you are really saying. THAT is what a freestyle is. Do not waste it, for tomorrow it will not be there for you. I hope this has been enlightening to you and you may now go freestyle into the world wide web. Good luck young apprentices.

Oh Jeez... The Best Song Ever...

Wow... I'm gonna blog about the best song ever. I mean there is just way to many things to consider about deciding what the best song ever is. There's best message, best musicianship, most all around likable song, and then my favorite song is getting jumbled in there somewhere. This is a really tough decision for me to make. If you just give me a minute or two I'll think of it. ... Ok so the best song ever. What have I decided? I officially believe after much contemplation that the best song ever would be Surrounded by Dream Theater. This song has a great message that you shouldn't give up or give in to the oppressions of the world or the many bad choices we humans can sometimes make or be tricked into making. This is actually a reoccurring message in many of Dream Theater's songs. This song also has some amazing musicianship. If you ever get a chance to listen to it, you can definitely tell the singer has an absolutely amazing voice that is completely unique to them and to the band. It is also very hard to recreate for any cover bands. Also while you are listening to it, try to listen to all the other instruments: the guitar, the bass guitar, the drums especially (I believe that their drummer, Mike Portnoy, is the best, period), and the keyboard. All of it is completely amazing. Going off the subject a bit, I also think that Dream Theater is the best band ever, but that will be for a different post. So this is the best song ever. Many of you will disagree, some of you will agree. For those of you who do, ROCK ON.
